The mystical Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina has an endlessly surprising sonic palette, and the American Nicolas Flagello writes with a Romantic sensibility. Ibert and Françaix (like all French composers) simply adored the instrument, as can be heard in these bubbly pieces.
